Stampin Friends August 2022 Blog Hop - All About the Paper!

Welcome to Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month is “all about paper”.  As paper crafters, where would we be without paper, lol. The point of this months blog is to showcase all the wonderful that is out, especially my favorite Designer Series paper from Stampin’ Up!

If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Jo’s blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Jean’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.  ENJOY!

I am always amazed (not sure why though) at the product selection Stampin’ Up! has to offer.  My greeting card and 3D project was made using only one of their Designer Series Paper pack and a bunch of coordinating card stock, along with one product bundle.  Below are all the supplies used to make my projects.

MATERIALS:

Season of Chic Bundle
Texture Chic Specialty Designer Series Paper
Gold Foil Sheets
Soft Succulent Card Stock
Petal Pink Card Stock
Melody Mango Card Stock
Soft Suede Card Stock
Basic White Card Stock
Very Vanilla Card Stock
Basic Pearls
Basic Rhinestones
Momento Black Ink

What better way to showcase the beautiful paper this DSP has to offer, then by using just about all the different sheets on one card?  Below is my card along with some simple instructions.

CARD MEASUREMENTS:
Card Base: basic white card stock, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/2”
Second Layer: gold foil 4” x 5 1/4”
Third Layer: 5 pieces of DSP, 15/16” x 3 3/4”
Scraps: soft succulent, petal pink, soft suede and basic white

I do like cards that come together very easily and this is definitely one of them.  The majority of the card is adhered together with adhesive.  The sentiment panel is adhered with dimensional, to make it pop up a little.  Then I embellished it with basic pearls. (These are still my favorite go to embellishments, along with the basic rhinestones).

Another great way to showcase DSP is by making a sampler frame.  When I first noticed the bundle, Season of Chic, in the catalog (I’ll admit, it was just about two weeks ago) I fell in love and thought it would be the perfect bundle for a seasonal frame.  My original plan was to use it in my frame class, but unfortunately, it didn’t come in in time. But  I am excited that I got to use for my blog. Normally, I would make an insert for each season, this is what I did form my class.  However, to be able to use the different sheets of DSP in one frame, I made this one to reflect all four seasons.

FRAME
Frame size: 11 x 11, it the mats opening was 4 1/2” x 4 1/2”.  by I enlarged it to be 6” x 6”.
Background stock: Gail Foil 7” x 7”
Squares: 4 pieces of DSP  3 16/17” x 3 16”/17”
Scraps: 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” in petal pink, pool party, mango melody, soft suede, basic white and very vanilla. 1/4” sheet of gold foil

Each square showcases a different season, so I only used the dies for this.  The hardest part for me is always color coordination.  This is how I solved the problem.  I die cut ALL THE PIECES from the dies set (except the background die) in just about all the coordinating colors.  Then I just played around with what I thought worked best.  Here is the final result and of course I used basic rhinestones and pearls to embellish each panel.

To show how fun and versatile you can make these frames, here are the inserts I made for me class.  My apologies for using many retired products.

I hope you enjoyed my “all about paper” projects!  Don’t forget, comments of any kind (well hopefully nice ones, lol) are greatly appreciated. When you are done here be sure to hop on over to Jean’s Blog.

See you next month!

PerfectPartners.jpg
PERFECT PARTNERS!
Some things are great on their own but become epic when they are paired with something else: cereal and milk, toast and butter, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. We may be biased, but our favorite combo is our stamp sets and dies—and that’s what the Perfect Partners promotion is all about!
Stampin’ Up! has created six new dies that coordinate with stamp sets in the 2022–2023 Annual Catalog and the July–December 2022 Mini Catalog. These coordinating dies will only be available during this promotion and will not be offered in any catalog.
These stamp sets and dies are available separately or as a bundle. By buying the bundle, you will save 10% off the retail price.
Put these wonderful stamp sets and dies together for more paper crafting fun!  Attached you will find a pdf of these awesome new “bundles” that will be available for purchase starting September 1st.

First, thank you, thank you, thank you, to those that have already donated...day by day I am getting closer to my fundraising goal!

Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Team In Training

On a side note, I am raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!  In doing so, I will be part of their Team In Training Program and will be participating in the Disney World Marathon Weekend events. My fundraising goal is $8,000! Yes, that is the correct number and I need your help!
  • One way that I am raising funds is by donating a percentage of sales from all of my retired stamp sets.  My first sale of them occurred on June 12th.  That day, even with just a few sales I was able to raise $12.75.  I will be posting all available stamp sets and bundles on my Facebook page and I will also be posting them on my Stampin’ w/Tiziana Blog.  https://stampinwtiziana.blogspot.com I know I had this in last months email, but this is taking longer than I thought to organize and upload, please bare with me on this :-)
  • I will also be hosting a “Pasta for Cause” Dinner on October 2nd (please save the date).  Attached is more information  At this event there will be a ton of raffle baskets, along with 50/50 and other fun things to do!
  • Also, in October, I will be hosting another Pampered Chef Party.  All my Hostess Benefits will go to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.  I had one in May (thank you to all those that purchased) and I was able to raise $363!  Here is my shopping link (it is actually open now) if you need something sooner than later. pamperedchef.com/go/tizianamilano1003
Stay tuned for more fun and creative events I will be hosting to raise much needed funds! Shares are also greatly appreciated.

To learn more about my "why" for fundraising for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society or if you rather just make a donation (any amount is greatly appreciated), please visit my fundraising page here.  https://pages.lls.org/tnt/neri/wdw23/TMilano

Stampin Friends July 2022 Blog Hop - Perfectly Punched!

Welcome to Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month we are featuring cards and projects using punches. There are a ton of different types of punches available.  My favorite are generic shapes.  With these you can create a bunch of “punch art” which make them very versatile.  However, for this blog, I chose to use a punch that can be used to make shaker cards.

If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Barb’s blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Teri’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.
ENJOY!

MATERIALS:
  • Very Vanilla Card Stock
  • Early Espresso Card Stock
  • Basic Black Card Stock
  • He’s the Man 12x12 DSP
  • Cajun Craze Ink
  • Parakeet Party Ink
  • Bottled Happiness Bundle
  • He’s All That Bundle
  • Vintage Bottle Shaker Domes
  • Rustic Metallic Adhesive backed dots

I’m on a roll with making “masculine” cards and gifts.  Thank goodness, because they are always the hardest ones for me.  I dug out the He’s The Man suite again.  I just love how it has everything you need to make cards and projects.

In case you didn’t notice right away, I did use the vintage bottle shaker domes, however, instead of putting “shaker” material in the dome…I actually used real BBQ sauce!  How cool is that!!  I think this would be a fun card to give along with a gift card for your local BBQ restaurant.  So, let’s get started with how my card came together.  A quick tip: fill and seal your shaker dome before adhering it to your project.

CARD STOCK SIZES
Card stock for the base is very vanilla, scored at 5 1/2”.
DSP layer: 2 1/2" x 5 1/4", 1 1/2” x 5 1/2” and 1/2” x 5 1/4”.
Early Espresso, basic white and very vanilla card stock: scraps.

This was a very easy card to put together.
  1. After I filled the bottle dome covered the back with a piece of acetate.  I punched a bottle image in the thinner DSP and adhered the shaker dome to it.  I think added the three pieces of DSP to the card base with adhesive.
  2. I then die cut out two of the diamond designs in early espresso card stock. I adhered this the center of the card towards the top.
  3. Lastly I added the sentiment with dimensional and embellished it with rustic metallic dots.
  4. I also made a label for the bottle of “BBQ” sauce and added a cork, so the sauce wouldn’t ooze out, lol.
To go along with the card, I created this really neat small box that will perfectly fit a “nip”.  If you do not know what a “nip” is, it is a small bottle liquor, more of a sampler.  I found out not too long ago, not only are these not sold in all states here in the US, but also, not everyone calls them “nips”.  Who would have thunk it!  I also like this box because it has a flap that can be tucked in or left out.  For my box I left the flap out and used a piece of velcro as a fastener.  I know most guys won’t take the time to untie ribbon, so I figured the velcro would easier for them.

Measurements for the box
7 3/8” x 6 3/4” basic black card stock
4, 1 1/4” x 4 1/8 and 2, 1 1/4” x 1 1/4” (optional) DSP
1 3/8” x 3” accettate.
Score the 7 3/8” x 6 3/4” as follows:
    7 3/8” at 1 1/2” and 5 7/8”
    6 3/4” at 1 1/2”, 3, 4 1/2” and 6

  1. Snip and trim as shown in the diagram.  Before you put the box together, punch the bottle image so you can add the shaker bottle.  For this bottle, I also used real BBQ sauce. I also added my DSP pieces to the box.
  2. Using tear tape, I folded the three end flaps to create my box.
  3. Lastly, using the laser cut pieces from He’s the Man 12” x 12” DSP embellish the top of the box and flap if you like.

I hope you enjoyed my “punch” card and project, next time I’ll be sure to feature a punch art design!  Don’t forget, comments of any kind (well hopefully nice ones, lol) are greatly appreciated. When you are done here be sure to hop on over to Teri’s Blog.
See you next month!

Stampin Friends June 2022 Blog Hop - Lots of Layers!

Welcome to Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month we are featuring cards and projects with lots of layers. This is a good way to use up all those pieces of scrap Designer Series Paper (DSP).

If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Sue’s blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Teri’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.
ENJOY!

MATERIALS NEEDED:
Basic White Cardstock
Bermuda Bay Yardstick
DSP of your choice (I used Sunshine & Rainbows 6”x6” DSP from the Jan0Jun 2022 Sale-A-Bration brochure)
Momento Black Ink
Party Puffin Stamp Set
Stitched Rectangle Dies
Colored Pencils
White Twine

Have you all seen this freakin’ cute stamp set, Party Puffin in Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Catalog??  I just love it!  I’ve had it for a bit and finally decided to use it for this Hop.  I hope you love it as much as I do after seeing what I was able to make with it!

For my card, I find that now I love doing fancy folds.  So today I have another fancy fold card for you, along with lots of layers.  This fancy fold card is called Fold Back Pop-Up card.  Full instructions can be found on splitcoaststampers.com by Robyn Rasset.

Here are the sizes of cardstock and DSP used.  It is best to coordinate and prepare these pieces ahead of time.
  • Cardstock base: 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 2 1/8" and 4 1/4"
  • Patterned paper #1: 2 pieces 5 1/4” x 1 7/8”
  • Patterned paper #2: 2 pieces 2”x 2” cut in half diagonally
  • White cardstock: 2 pieces 1 5/8” x 1 5/8”
  • White cardstock: 2 pieces 2 5/8” x 2 5/8”, cut 1 in half diagonally
  • Coordinating cardstock: 2 pieces 1 3/4”x 1 3/4”
  • Coordinating cardstock: 2 pieces 2 3/4" x 2 3/4”, score 1 on the diagonal and cut off 1” of tip parallel to scoreCard base is basic white cardstock, 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, folded in half to become 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”.

The following instructions were taken right from splitcoaststampers.
  1. Open the card flat and adhere patterned paper #1 to the left side, centered between score lines. Adhere the patterned paper triangles to the corners on the right side.
  2. Adhere the 2 3/4” cardstock square centered between the triangles.
  3. Stamp the images onto the white cardstock with the squares in diamond orientation.
  4. Color the images and prepare any other embellishments for your design.
  5. Adhere the colored images to cardstock layers.
  6. Adhere greeting layer to card.
  7. Without adhering, lay the images in place as a test for placement.
  8. Add strong adhesive to the scored tab. Hold in position. Close card onto the adhesive.
  9. Position the tip of the first small square at the corner of the patterned paper on the front. Add adhesive only to the left side. Repeat with the bottom square, lining up with the bottom corner of the patterned paper.

To go along with the card, I created a gift pouch to hold a bottle of doTerra hand sanitizer.  I think the one thing this pandemic has instilled in us, is the use of hand sanitizer to keep germs away.  This cute pouch has a window so you can see the contents and it is very easy to open, without destroying the packaging.  Did I mention, these make great end of year or beginning of year teacher gifts too!

Measurements for the pouch are as follows.
  • 8 1/2” x 7 1/2” cardstock
  • 2, 1 1/4” x 5 3/4” DSP
  • 1 7/8” x 3 1/2” acetate.

Here are some quick instructions on how to put your pouch together.
  1. Score the 8 1/2” x 7 1/2” piece of cardstock at 2”, 3 1/2”, 5 1/2”,7”, then score 1 1/2” on the other side. (see image)
  2. Snip all of the score line up to the 1 1/2” score.  Then trim off the last square that measures 1 1/2” x 1 1/2”.
  3. Add tear tape to the flap where you removed the square. (see image) Be sure to put a piece close to the score line and the edge of the cardstock. Adhere this to the other side to create a rectangle box.
  4. Carefully, place rectangle die in the wider center panel.  Carefully fold over from the score line on top of the die. (This was the only way I could get it through my die cutting machine).  It will leave an indent but this will be covered by the DSP.  Using tear tape I adhered the piece of acetate to make my window.
  5. Adhere the 2 pieces of DSP on the 1 1/2” wide panels.
  6. Add adhesive the smaller flaps at the bottom to close up the box.  Now you have a pouch/box that will stand up.
  7. To finish off the pouch, I pushed in the narrow sides and gave it small pinch so it folds.
  8. I punched of piece of DSP from a fancy label punch (retired, sorry).  I folded this in half.  I adhered half to the back of the opening.  I then folded it over and punched to holes so I can string some twine to hold the pouch closed, yet making it easy to open to remove the contents.
  9. Lastly, I decorated the pouch by stamping a puffin and cake on scraps of white cardstock, colored, fussy cut and adhered to the front of the pouch.

I hope you enjoyed my lots of layers card and project!
Don’t forget, comments of any kind (well hopefully nice ones, lol) are greatly appreciated. When you are done here be sure to hop on over to Teri’s Blog.
See you next month!

Stampin Friends May 2022 Blog Hop - Celebrating Men!

Welcome to Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month we are celebrating men which is just fitting because next month we celebrate Father's Day here in the states.

If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Steph’s blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Melissa’s blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.

ENJOY!

I know most of us have a hard to buying for the men in our lives, so we tend to give giftcards.  My project this month makes giftcard giving much more fun!

I am using the product suite "He's the Man" from Stampin' Up!  Once again they have out done their self.  The suite includes everything you need to make masculine cards and 3D projects.  Here are mine!

Greeting Card:

SUPPLIES: Early Espresso Card Stock; Crushed Curry Card Stock; He's the Man 12"x12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP); Rustic Metallic Adhesive Dots

INSTRUCTIONS: Like I said Stampin' Up! really out did themselves and this time they did it by having one of their printed DSP sheets already laser cut.  There are a ton of pieces that can be used to quickly put a greeting card or scrapbook page together.

  • Card Base = 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" early espresso card stock
  • First Layer = 4" x 5 1/4" crushed curry card stock
  • Second Layer = 3 3/4" x 4 3/4" camper print DSP checked print visible; 2 pieces of 1 1/2" x 3 3/4" camper print DSP with camper print visible.
  • Lastly I did die cut the crushed curry "banner" to add to the cluster in the center of my card.  The circle piece and arrow is one of the laser cut pieces that comes in the DSP.  And yes I blinged a masculine card with rustic metalic adhesive dots.

Smores Themed Gift Card Holder:

SUPPLIES: Soft Succulent Card Stock; He's the Man 12"x12" Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP); Cajun Crase Card Stock; Rustic Metallic Adhesive Dots, Twine

SIDE NOTE: Please ignore the "seasonal" marshmallow peeps (lol).

I thought I would disguise a gift card for my 3D project.  I think getting a gift card in your greeting card or one of the provided envelopes is soooo boring!  So here is an alternative way which can be replicated for anyone in your life. It's a mini smores kit that includes the gift card in the reusable waterproof case!  Just an FYI, you can buy the water proof case at most out doors shops.

INSTRUCTIONS:
  • For the case I removed the insert and used it as a template which I traced onto a piece of DSP. The piece of DSP used is approximately 6" x 4".  I then scored in the same spots as the "template" so it would slide into the case as the original insert.

  • For part of the "smores" kit, yes I used a snowman peep for the marshmallow and scooby snacks for the graham crackers (these are my favorite)!  I placed them in a cello bag and tied the top with some twine.  I then used one of the pieces from the laser cut sheet in the "He's the Man" DSP to decorate the cello bag.

  • If you have the mini Hersey bars you could add them to this kit.  I only had the large bars on hand so I made a pouch to hold it. You could "hide" the giftcard in this pouch also.
  • To make the pouch I used a piece of 5 2/2" x 6" DSP.  It is scored at 1 5/8" on either side when holding the piece of DSP landscape.  Then scored at 1/2" on one side when holding the piece of DSP portrait. Then I trimmed as shown in the image.
  • Then you just place adhesive on the tab and on the flap to close up the pouch.  You can punch a circle or die cut a shape at the top of the pouch to expose more of the chocolate bar.
  • Once again I used some of the pieces from the laser cut sheet of DSP, I die cut the banner out of soft succulent card stock and stamped the "compas" image in early espresso on the cajun craze DSP.  I then added this to the pouch with some twine.

I hope you enjoyed my Celebrating Men card and 3D project!  Don’t forget, comments of any kind (well hopefully nice ones, lol) are greatly appreciated.

When you are done here be sure to hop on over to Melissa’s Blog.         See you next month!

ENJOY!

I just love this time of year....the drabby winter months are slowly going away, making the way for sunshine and mother nature waking everything up again.  The trees are filling their branches, the grass is growing and most importantly, the flowers are blooming! So, with this we decided to focus on flowers for this blog.  My projects consist of another "gift set" that can be given as a birthday gift for spring time. Of course there is a greeting card, along with a small jar of loose leaf tea. I had a really fun time putting my projects together and hope you enjoy them.

For my projects I used a very new suite that will be in the NEW Stampin' Up! catalog which should be in hands by now!  If it is not, don't worry it will be there very soon!  The suite I used is called Hues of Happiness.  I just love how Stampin' Up! makes sure some of their DSP images can be die cut out with the coordinating die set!  When you have a busy month like I did, it makes it easy to create a master piece in no time at all!

Products Used:

  Happiness Abounds Bundle

  Hues of Happiness 12" x 12" DSP

  Daffodil Delight Card Stock

  Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots

Simple Card Instructions:

  1. The card base is made with daffodil delight card stock.  I then layered a piece of DSP from Hues of Happiness.
  2. For my next layer, I first die cut the velum with the texture die from the Blossoming Happiness Die Set.
  3. On top pf the velum I adhered two strips of DSP (this paper is so beautiful, I wanted to show of as much of it as possible).
  4. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment in black on basic white card stock and die cut out one of the larger flowers from the DSP, along with some leaves. I added a rustic metallic adhesive-back dot to the center of the flower.

Simple Gift Instructions:

I used a simple spice jar to hold my loose leaf tea and prettied it up using more of the Hues of Happiness DSP.

  1.   The first thing I did is wrap a strip of DSP around the jar. Then I added a thin strip of daffodil delight card stock, which I die cut the top using the "note book" die from the Happiness Die Set. (Unfortunately, I just realized you can not see this in any of the pictures, but trust me it is so cute!)
  2. I added the same flower and leaves from the card to cover up the seams.
  3. In the center of the flower I also added a rustic metallic adhesive-back dot. Just an FYI, just because the flower is cut off on the DSP, it can still be used.  The flower used here was on the edge of the DSP so no need to cut a whole flower in half to get the effect that I wanted!
  4. I then added a smaller flower from the DSP to the top of the lid, along with more leaves.

I hope you enjoyed my All About Flowers card and project!  Don’t forget, comments of any kind (well hopefully nice ones, lol) are greatly appreciated.
When you are done here be sure to hop on over to Jo’s Blog.
See you next month!
