Stampin Friends July Blog Hop - Just Rewind & Redo!

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop!

Wow, can you believe it is already July? Where has the year gone? It is a rewind, redo hop, I think it is kind of fitting seeing as time is just flying by!   This was a fun hop because it made me go through ALL of my projects and decide on just one (for now) to redo using all new product.  I decided to go back almost 10 years and redo one of my favorite mini scrapbooks, the Match Book Scrapbook.  Don’t be alarmed, you won’t be on this page forever, it’s not that big of scrapbook.

If you are following along on the hop you have arrived from Melissa’s blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue on to Steph’s blog.  If you get lost along the way, no worries, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.

ENJOY!

I made this Match Book Scrapbook for our Hot Air Ballon Festival trip with my parents. I can’t believe it has already been 9 years ago since we were there.  It was something my Mom and Dad were very excited for, until we get there and there are no hot air balloons being released that day, bummer.  The weather wasn’t cooperating, so they grounded balloons and never brought them out.  So I guess, a rewind redo trip is order. :-)

OK, back to stampin' fun.  I made this card using memories and more card pack.  I've used them in the past and thought this would be a great rewind, redo card.

To make my projects I used some products from the Hand Penned Suite from Stampn’ Up!’ & and the stamp set is Forever Fern.

Friend Card

MATERIALS NEEDED

Stamp Set/Dies: Forever Fern; Basic Borders Dies

Paper: Whisper White (5 ½”x8 ½”); Highland Heather (4 1/8”x5 3/8”); Evening Evergreen (1/2”x5 3/8”) Hand-Penned Memories and More Card Pack daisy image (4 1/8”x3 ½”)

Accessories: Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder; Genial Gems; Bumblebee Trinkets

Ink: Evening Evergreen

If you are ever in need for a quick card, don’t forget you can always use cards from memories & more card pack.  Here is how easily this went together.

  1. Run the highland heather cardstock through the Big Shot with the ornate floral 3D folder.  Adhere this to the card base.
  2. Stamp your sentiment on the card of your choice. I used the daisy printed card.  This will be the front of your card.
  3. Next, on the same card as above, I die cut a fun border at the bottom using one of the dies from Basic Borders Dies. Then I adhered a strip of the evening evergreen cardstock to the back of the card, to bring out the border detail. This whole piece gets adhered to the card base with dimensionsals.
  4. Lastly, I embellished the card front with a bumblebee trinket and genial gems.

If you think that was easy, check out how easy it is to make a mini-scrapbook!

Matchbook Scrapbook

This is such a quick and easy scrapbook to put together, especially using memories and more card packs!  Let’s get started, shall we.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Paper: Pale Papaya (10” ½”4 1/4”); Highland Heather, Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride (4”x4”); Mint Macaron (2 ½”x3”) Hand-Penned Memories and More Card Pack (3 – 4”x6” cards” and 3-3”x4”); Hand Penned DSP (2 - ½” x4”; 4”x4 ½”)

Accessories: Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder; Tasteful Textile Embossing folder, Subtle Embossing Folder, Old World Paper Embossing Folder and Genial Gems; Bumblebee Trinkets

  1. To make the matchbook cover, cut a piece of cardstock 4 ¼”x10”.  Then score at 1”, 5 ½”; 5 7/8”. Fold at all the scores, to make a matchbook. At the 1” flap, staple the flap below the halfway mark.  This way you can tuck the cover behind the flap to resemble a matchbook.
  2. I then decorated the matchbook, using various prints of Hand-Penned DSP and left-over piece of the memories and more card pack.  If you know me, I am very frugal and when I cut up things, I like to use as much of it as possible to embellish.
  3. To make the pages, I used two cards from the memories and more pack, trimmed to be 4”x4”.  The other pages are made from highland heather, mint macaron and blushing bride cardstock, all cut to 4”x4”.
  4. The memories and more pages, I just left as is.  There are some nice sentiments on them, so why cover it up.  And one of the cards will be great for journaling. However, on the other side of these cards, is where I will place my picture.  On some of these I did use some left-over pieces to dress them up a little.
  5. For the cardstock pages, I first ran them through the Big Shot with embossing folders.  I can’t believe I never thought of that for picture mats.  Also, on two of those pages, I used more cards from the memories and more card pack.  I tried to choose cards that will add to the meaning of the book with phrases and that will be perfect for journaling!  Again, the blank side is where I will place my pictures.
  6. Lastly, which I have started but didn’t finish, is accessorizing the pages, to do this I used scrap pieces of DSP, once the journaling and pictures get added, I will add some bumblebee trinkets and gems.

I hope you enjoyed my rewind re-do project!  It’s always fun to spruce up an old project!  I am looking forward to sharing a lot more with you the rest of this year!!  Comments of any kind (well hopefully nice ones, lol) are greatly appreciated. When you are done here be sure to hop on over to the next blogger on the list!

See you next month!
