Hello fellow crafters, welcome to Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This month we are focusing on Masculine or My Guy type of cards and projects.  I am so excited this theme was chosen, I have a Stampin’ Up! Suite which I purchased and haven’t been able to use for my classes because of the pandemic. So this is the perfect place to showcase it!  Also, don’t forget, in the US Fathers Day is June 21st!

I chose the Country Club Suite which can be found on page 47 in the January-June Mini Catalog. If you have golfers in your life this is definitely for you!!  Here is a preview of the card and 3D item.

I will need to confess, the background was embossed with the wrong folder.  This is what happens when you do not put things away in its place quickly. The background should have been the Absolutely Argyle 3D Embossing Folder.  Unfortunately, I am not sure what the name is of this embossing folder.

Quick Glance Supply List
  • Clubhouse Stamp Set
  • “Absolutely Arglyle” 3D Embossing Folder
  • Country Club DSP
  • Crushed Curry and Garden Green Card Stock
  • Silver Paper
  • Golf Club Dies
  • Tailored Tag Punch
  • Stampin’ Blends
  •  Momento and Poppy Parade Ink
  • Country Club Twine

Card Instructions:
  1. Card base is made from 4 ¼” x 11”, scored at 5 ½”.
  2. I then embossed the card front with the embossing folder.
  3. I cut a piece of the DSP 1 ¼” x 5 ½”, I adhered this to the card front with snail towards the left hand side.  I took a piece of Poppy parade and Garden Green Twine and first tied a bow, and then cut the hoops.  I think this looks more masculine than a bow. I adhered this to the strip of DSP with a glue dot.
  4. I die cut out three gold clubs and spaced them evenly between the DSP and the edge of the card towards the top.
  5. I stamped the sentiment, “You’re The Greatest Guy By Par” in momento black ink onto Garden Green card stock and punched this out using the Tailored Tag Punch.  I then went back and stamped the same greeting in Poppy Parade Ink on Whisper White card stock and die cut out the words “Greatest Guy” and adhered it to the Garden Green card stock with dimensionals.  This, then went on top of the golf clubs.
  6. Lastly, I stamped the golf ball on Whisper White card stock and colored with Stampin Blends.  I adhered this towards the bottom, also using dimensionals.

BTW, who says these Copper Tea Tins can only be used for tea?? For my 3D project I used one of these tins to hold a golf ball, some tees and a gift card.  A perfectly wrapped gift for Dad, Husband, Son or male friend.

  • Country Club Twine
  • Country Club Elements
  • Copper Tea Tins
 Tin Instructions:
  1. I cut a piece of DSP 2 ¼” x 12”. I wrapped it around the tin using tear tape.
  2. I then wrapped a piece of Poppy parade and Garden Green Twine around the tine and tied a messy bow to one side. Below this, I adhered one of the Country Club elements.
  3. I then stamped the Golfer image with momento black ink onto Whisper White card stock. I colored this in using Stampin’ Blends and adhered it to the tin using dimensionals.
  4. The lid is decorated with a piece of DSP 2” x 3 ½” in size. I corner rounded the corners and adhered it with snail.
  5. I stamped the image that says “Happy Father’s Day” onto one of the Country Club Elements in Night of Navy ink. I adhered this to the lid along with other elements.

I didn’t want the contents of the tin to move around so I made an insert that would hold everything in place.  This is what I came up with.

Tin Insert Instructions:  I used the cardboard backing you find in Stampin’ Up’s! DSP and their thicker cardboard used in other packaging to make the insert.
  1. The base for the insert is 8” x 3 ¼”, scored at 3” on both sides. I top is made of the heavier cardboard.  The size is 3 7/8” x 3 ¼”.  This is scored at 1” on both sides.
  2. I then cut a piece of DSP 3 7/8” x 3 ¼” and adhere it to the heavier card stock.  I punched four holes using the large hole on the crop-a-dile.
  3. I then cut a slit to accommodate the gift card holder.   Once this was all done I adhered the two pieces together to make the insert.  I dropped a golf ball into the insert and added the tees and gift card holder.  Now I can easily place the insert in the tin.
So my word of advise for this blog hop, just because something is intended for a specific thing…try to think outside the box to get the most use of our products.

Don’t stop here, continue on to Rachael’s blog for even more great masculine cards and projects.
