Well Wishes come in many forms, they way I chose to approach this topic is one that I am sure many can use, especially during this pandemic. My Well Wishes is for someone who may not be feeling well.  Doesn’t a cup of tea or hot cocoa make everyone feel better???   Oh and we all use a bunch of facial tissues too, so I incorporated that into my card.

 

 

Get Well Soon Greeting Card

I’ve seen a similar card on Pinterest quite some time ago and pinned it hoping to make one right away.  Well here we are years later and I finally am!  When this theme popped up, I just couldn’t wait to give it a try.  Doesn’t it look like the cutest little box of facial tissue?  To make the box all you need to do is a piece of DSP cut to 3”x2 ¼” and then you will score all sides ¼” and ½” from the edge.  Then just cut a couple of corners, fold it down and your done.  This is an open box in the back, but that is OK since it is adhered to the card and you will never see the back.  I created the opening with the large oval punch and then used the scalloped large oval punch to create the border around the opening. Below is everything I used to make this card.

 

INGREDIENTS

Stamp Set: Timeless Tulips

Paper: Soft Sea Foam (4 ¼”x8 ½”)

Pretty Peacock (4”x5 ¼”, 2 ¼” x1 ½”, scraps)

Whisper White (scraps)

Forever Greenery DSP (3 ¾”x5”, 3”x2 ¼”)

Ink: Pretty Peacock

Tools/Accessories: Large Oval Punch (r); Large Scallop Oval Punch (r); Lovely Labels Pick a Punch; Ribbon, Facial Tissue

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Fold in half the 4 ¼”x8 ½” soft sea foam cs, adhere 4”x5 ¼” pretty peacock to the card front.  Then adhere the Forever Greenery DSP to the top of this.
2. Attach the 2 ¼”x1 ½” pretty peacock cs towards the top in the center.  Using scraps of pretty peacock, cut two thin strips and adhere them on the sides of the box. Then adhere the facial tissue box to the center of this. 
3. Cut a piece of facial tissue and tuck it into the box.
4. Stamp the words “get well soon” from the Timeless Tulip stamp set onto whisper white cs, in pretty peacock ink. The paper size I used is ½” x 2 ¾”.  Then punch the edges using the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch. Next create a background for this piece with a piece of ¾”x 3” pretty peacock cs.  Again, punch the edges with punch.  Adhere this to the card front towards the bottom with dimensionals
5. Make a bow out of coordinating ribbon and adhere it to the left of the label.

 

 

Get Well Soon Hot Drink Pack

Onto the yummy part of my project with the theme Wellness Wishes.  Stampin’ Up! has come out with these really neat coffee cups and carrier.  When I ordered these I thought they were very mini cups and carrier…to my surprise they are not.  Which makes these even better since they are really usable!   They can be found in the Heartwarming Hugs suite in the August-December Mini Catalog.  If you are wondering why Stampin’ Up! has started bundling products in suites, it is to take ALL of the guesswork at finding what matches. So when you order a Suite it comes with bundles at their normal 10% discount and then just about anything 

else you will need to make cards, 

scrapbook pages, or home decor items, 

yippee!!

 

INGREDIENTS:

Stamp Set: Dandelion Wishers, Warm Hugs

Paper:

Soft Sea Foam (1 7/8”x 2 ½”, scraps for cup bands and circle for the tea bag holder)

Pretty Peacock (2”x5 ½” (2), 2”x2 ½” (2), scraps for cup bands)

Whisper White (1 5/8”x 2 ¼”, scraps for tea tag, box tag and coffee cups)

Forever Greenery DSP (1 ¾”x 5 ½” (2), 1 ¾”x  2 ½” (2), 2”x8 ½”, 2 5/8”x12”, scraps for box tag and coffee cups)

Ink:Pretty Peacock ink and light stampin’ blends, Soft Suede ink and dark stampin’ blends, Real Red ink

Tools/Accessories:Warm Wraps Dies, ¾” Circle Punch, 1” Circle Punch, Scallops Tag Punch, Ribbon, Mini Coffee carrier, Mini Coffee Cups, Wrapped in Texture embossing folder 

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

If I am too wright up instructions for all these pieces, it will take days…so instead I will give you some tips.

1. You will need two coffee wrappers to go around the cup.  Also, use tear tape to adhere them together or any sturdy adhesive.
2. Die cut your pieces first, emboss second.
3. I used some adhesive to hold the hot cocoa packet and tea bag in the holder.
4. Have in decorating these items (I know I did) the stamp sets that are in the suite have mostly to do with the Holidays coming in the Fall and Winter, but I thought the sentiment “Eat, Drink and be Cozy” works just as well for someone not feeling good.

So what does this months theme, Anything Goes, mean??? It means we get to pick anything we want to show you!! Yippee, whoo hooo!  I love this idea because I am going to bring a blast from the past back to showcase.  When this stamp set and dies were originally released, I wasn’t really blogging much. So with the topic Anyhing Goes, I now can showcase one of my most favorite bundles Stampin’ Up! has ever offered, Oh, So Succulent!!!

Succulents continue to be all the rave still!  I think this because it is very hard to kill these plants.  All you need to do is water them once a month or so and keep them in the sunlight.  How hard is that…..uhem…apparently very hard because I have managed to kill a few, lol. Any hoot, this brings me to my projects today.

 

All non-green thumbs PLEASE SEE/READ THIS!!!  Now is your chance to have a succulent plant that will NEVER die no matter how much you neglect it!

I’ll start with my fun 3D project first. In case you couldn’t tell by my name, I am Italian.  And the one thing Italians have way too much of is espresso cups.  They are given for just about every type of occasion!  With this said, I have a stockpile of these. So, I thought I would thin out my supply and make them useful!  I thought they would make lovely planters for my paper succulents and cactus.  What do you think?  Can I pass this off as a real plant??

 

Here is what I used to make the Succulent filled espresso cup with saucer. 

Ingredients

Paper:  Two or three different shades of green cardstock; rosy red cardstock

Ink: Rich Razzleberry; Pretty Peacock; Mossy Meadow, 

Accessories: Medium size brads; metal rimmed pearls; basic pearls; espresso cup with saucer; floral moss; Spanish moss

Tools: Succulent framelits dies; Oval dies, bone folder

Instructions 

1. I made the cactus by die cutting two ovals; I then cut a slit in the middle half up the oval.  I did this for both ovals then I slid them into each other.  (see photos for a visual).  Before assembling I also spritzed them with a darker shade of green ink.
2. I adhered this inside the espresso cup with a glue gun.  I then filled in the gaps with some floral moss.  I also adhered with the glue gun, the espresso cup to the saucer. I filled in the section between the espresso cup and saucer with Spanish moss.
   
3. I made the succulents with the dies from Succulent framelits dies.  Each flower is made with the three larger dies and some were made using all the dies.  The flower on top of the cactus is made with just the three smaller dies.  
4. To give them the “real” floral look be sure to sponge the edges of all the petal pieces.  Then adhere them together with adhesive and secure them with a medium brad.  For some, I just used a metal rimmed pearl for the center.  You also want to curl up the petals using a bone folder.
5. Once you have your succulents made, adhere them to the espresso cup with a glue gun.
6. Tada….now you have your succulent plant that will last forever and there is no watering involved.

Another great thing about this 3D project….it makes for a wonderful teacher, neighbor, birthday gift!  And when you give a gift, it must be accompanied by a greeting card!  

 

Here is what I used to make the greeting card.

 

Ingredients

Paper: Whisper White cardstock (8 ½”x5 ½” and 3 ¾”x5 ½”); Blooms & Bliss DSP (1”x5 ½”)

Ink: Mint Macaron; Daffodil Delight; Cajun Craze, Sweet Sugarplum and Momento Black

Stamp Set: Oh So Succulent and Dragonfly Dreams

Accessories: Basic pearls

Tools: Succulent framelit dies

 

Instructions

1.  Fold you whisper white card base in half and set aside.
2. On the 3 ¾”x5 ½” whisper white cardstock, randomly stamp the outline image of the larger succulent in mint macaron.  I also used a splatter image in the same color ink.  I then stamped the centers of the succulents with the medium “fill” image in the stamp set by stamping off first with daffodil delight ink.  Then in full color, I randomly stamped one of the smaller flower images randomly.  Lastly, to fill in any open spaces, I stamped the tiny burst of flowers image in crushed curry. 
3. On a piece of scrap paper, I stamped the “fill” image of the large succulent in mint macaron (3) and Sweet Sugarplum (1).  I used the framelit die to cut these out.  
4. I used the sentiment “Enjoy Your Special Day” from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  This I stamped in momento black ink towards the top. Now we can go ahead and assemble the card.
5. First, I adhered the DSP to the right hand side of the card front.  Then the stamped piece is adhered to the card front towards the left, so a little bit of the DSP shows on the right.
6. I snailed the mint macaron die cut succulents towards the bottom left and adhered the Sweet Sugarplum succulent with dimensionals.
7. Lastly, I embellished the centers of the succulents with basic pearls.

Stampin Friends June Blog Hop - What's Going On?

Hello fellow crafters, welcome to Stamping Friends Blog Hop. This month we are taking a look at “What’s going on?” It is an open topic which we were able to interpret anyway we liked. I have chosen to feature a new stampin’ bundle, Celebrate Sunflowers! If you are a fan of Sunflowers this is a bundle for you!

My card and project this month can be used for a variety of things, birthday, Mother’s Day, Teacher Gift, a Thank You Gift, but my favorite would be for either a baby or bridal shower favor. I don’t know about you, but I am always looking for new ideas.

Here is a quick glance at the supplies I used to make the card and honey jar holder.

With this new bundle, I can guarantee, you will always make something beautiful with it!

Let’s take a closer look at the greeting card. 

Card Instructions:

1. Card base is made from 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored at 4 1/4” So Saffron CS with the edges sponged in Crushed Curry ink.
2. I cut a piece of the DSP 2 ¼” x 5 ½” and adhered it to a piece of 2 ½” x 5 ½” Early Espresso CS. I then adhered this to the card base. 
3. I die cut the outline of the sunflower in Crushed Curry CS and the solid sunflower in So Saffron CSS. I adhered these two together and set aside.
4. I then die cut two of the large leaves outlines in Garden Green CS and two large solid leaves in Pear Pizzaz CS. I adhered these two together and attached it to the back of the Sunflower.
5. I finished off the Sunflower by die cutting the center out of Soft Suede CS and added three Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to the center. This is adhered to the card base over the DSP using dimensionals.
6. Lastly, I stamped the phrase Lets Celebrate you in Garden Green ink, onto Whisper White CS and sponged the edges with Crushed Curry ink.

The favor portion of my project holds a small jar of honey and comes with a honey spoon. I did use some retired Stampin’ Up! product but when showcasing honey how can you not use their Honey Bee Stamp Set and Detailed Bee Dies!

Mini Honey Jar Holder:

1. The holder consists of two strips of So Saffron CS sized (A) 2” x 12” and (B) 1 7/8” x 9”. The 2” x 12” is scored at 2”, 3”, 5”, 7”, 9” and 10”. The other piece is scored at 2”, 4 1/16”, 6 1/8” and 8 3/16”.
2. Take strip A and fold at the score lines, the base is 2” x 2”, with the other 2” panels standing upright.
3. Next, wrap strip B around the base and secure with tear tape or other strong adhesive. This will resemble a basket.
4. I then wrapped a piece of In Good Taste DSP (2” x 9”) around the base, using my fingers to crease the edges according to the base we just created. Be sure to secure it in place with tear tape or other strong adhesive.
5. I then decorated the top panel by stamping the small sunflower image and coloring it in using stampin blends. To highlight the center, I used some fine tip glue which when dried has a little bit of shine to it. I further embellished this with one of sprigs that come in the Sunflower Dies set in soft suede CS and an embellishment from In Good Taste Elements.
6. The Honey Jar and Honey Spoon is decorated using Honey Bee Stamp set and Dies.
